The Centre for Agricultural Machinery is a unit of the Institute of Technology, which is engaged in teaching, research and related consultancy tasks in the field of modern agricultural and food machinery technologies.
Its organisational structure:
- Department of Farm and Food Machinery, Gödöllő
- Department of Agricultural Mechanization, Keszthely
- Agricultural Engineering Laboratory, Gödöllő
The main professional profile of the Department of Farm and Food Machinery at the Gödöllő cam-pus is the teaching of disciplines related to the design and operation of agricultural and horticultural machinery and livestock machinery, the performance of scientific research tasks related to the technical development of the field, and the provision of expert consultancy and assistance in
solv-ing practical problems. The other main area of the department’s activity is teaching food industry operations and their technical knowledge, as well as assisting in technology development tasks in the food industry. The tasks of the Department of Farm and Food Machinery are supported by the Diagnostic and Service Technology Laboratory and the Food Mechanisation Laboratory.
The Department of Agricultural Mechanization at Keszthely Campus performs the tasks of teaching and research in the field of basic knowledge related to the mechanisation of agriculture and the increasing use of precision technologies, and cooperates as a consulting partner primarily in answering professional questions.
The Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering is part of the Institute of Technology and is involved in technical and technological research and development for the mechanisation of agriculture on the infrastructure of the predecessor Institute of Agricultural Mechanisation of NAIK. With its modern laboratory equipment, it is able to carry out operational and safety tests on power and working machines used in agriculture and thus can effectively support the development and mechanisation
of agricultural machinery in Hungary.
The cooperating partners of the Centre are mainly companies dealing with agricultural engineering such as KITE, Axiál Ltd. It maintains very good relations with national and international professional organisations such as the National Association of Field Machinery Manufacturers (MAGOSZ), the National Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Distributors (MEGFOSZ), the Europe-
an Agricultural Machinery Organisation (EurAgEng).
