The activities of the Centre of Mechanical Engineering Technologies range from the basic sciences, through the fundamental professional knowledge, to the teaching of specialised subjects, mainly in the field of mechanical engineering. The activities of the Centre’s Departments guarantee the same quality of training for students of all specialisations and fields of study. The Centre’s research programmes include an equal share of basic and applied research. As a result, the thesis, dissertation and PhD topics are of practical relevance, yet with a proper scientific basis. The Centre has the following four departments:

Department of Machine Construction

The main disciplines taught in the Department are: mechanics, computer-aided design and analysis
(VEM, DEM), machine elements, engineering design and development, complex engineering activity.

Department of Materials Science and Engineering Processes

The main disciplines covered by the department are: material structures theory, materials testing, mechanical technologies, computer-aided manufacturing, integrated manufacturing systems, tribology, renewal technologies, maintenance systems.

Department of Vehicle Technology

The main disciplines covered by the Department are: engine and vehicle technology, power engineering, offroad theory, vehicle informatics, electrical engineering, electronics, measurement and sensing.

Department of Building Engineering and Energetics

The main disciplines taught in the department are: building services engineering, energy management,
building energy systems, climate control systems, energy technology, renewable energy.
