The Technical Knowledge Transfer Centre is a service and research centre supporting the Institute of Technology in the performance of its tasks, with a special emphasis on educational activities.
With its considerable teaching capacities it serves the educational activities of MATE especially in the fields of technical and natural sciences. Among its basic tasks it operates a broad spectrum of knowledge transfer technologies in the field of higher education and scientific knowledge sharing. It also performs central functions of conference and technical demonstrations. It operates
a Technical Documentation Centre, which in addition to supporting training, also carries out research services in the field of agritechnology and technical history.

The Communication and Training Group organises the dissemination of the Institute’s teaching and research results and manages the publication activities of the journals the Institute supports.

The Centre operates a national Specialised Museum which is responsible for the management of the largest collection of agricultural and technical history in Hungary. It is the national centre for the management and coordination of agricultural technology history, and it also operates
the Museum of the History of Agricultural Equipment and Machine Development under the vindication of the University, licence number OSzM/1897-4/2018.

The National Specialised Museum collecting fields are agricultural history and industrial and technical history. Its main task are the collection, preservation and presentation of relics of industrial history and technical heritage. Its primary objectives are the collection, technical-historical processing and documentation of material relics of the universal history of technology and engineering which
are of lasting value for the industrial, technical-scientific development and history of the country and the world.

Main research interests:

  • Research on the agricultural technical-historical values of the Carpathian Basin;
  • Research on the history of Hungarian field machinery production;
  • Development and preservation of the agricultural-technical knowledge heritage (database).
